To Their Majesties Mordygan and Madigan, Conte Giovanni, Outlands Seneschal, the Outlands College of Heralds, the Outlands College of Scribes, and to all and singular who may find themselves in receipt of these present letters, warm greetings from Lady Marie de Blois, White Stag Principal Herald.

Here is my monthly report to the Crown and the College.

Pennsic is coming up soon, which offers an opportunity for heralds to meet up with heralds from all over the Known World at Herald's Point. If you are attending, please feel free to stop by, ask questions about obscure heraldry or names, and hang out - my experience has been that heralds are much the same 'round the world - quick with puns and jokes.

As mentioned last month, I have reexamined the roster due to assorted changes, and due to expiring warrants, several positions will be opening soon. I am continuing my predecessor's policy that each kingdom staff herald may have an initial one year extension without competition, if they wish to continue. After that, the position will be advertised at the end of each one-year extension period, and the incipient may reapply. This policy is in place to ensure that newer heralds have the opportunity to serve in these positions, to ensure that there is enough of a pool of heralds experienced in the work each position does to cover emergencies or sudden moves, and to prevent burnout among kingdom staff and stagnation within the college.

The following offices have reached or will reach in the next few months the end of their initial extension: Wharrow, Weel, Plover, Stags Attire. Additionally, Rampart's warrant expires soon and he has indicated that he does not wish an extension.

The current holders of these offices are welcome to reapply, and may receive another one-year extension if there are no other qualified applicants. I will be posting more detailed calls for applications early next week on the outlands-heralds email list.

Hlaford ∆thelwulf Muenc, having met our new guidelines for being a College of Arms commenter and having expressed interest, is now commenting on OSCAR under the title Fretty Herald.

The College of Heralds web team has been working on updates and changes to the back-end side of the Wimble and Wharrow websites, to offer better functionality to those heralds and the possibility of new features for local and court heralds. These changes are still in testing, and should be transparent to most users on the front-end.

Finances remain in the hands of the Kingdom Exchequer. Castle sends itemized reports to the Exchequer each month on checks received, and Rampart requests payment to Laurel for submissions likewise itemized. I am working with Rampart, Castle, and the Kingdom Exchequer to audit our costs in processing submissions (due to OSCAR-related changes), and our possible needs for additional supplies or equipment.

Kingdom staff and branch herald reports will be summarized in my quarterly reports, but a listing of reports received during the last three months will be included at the end of my monthly reports.
