Report: Monthly to Kingdom

Greetings unto Hoegaarden and Chiara, King and Queen of the Outlands, Mistress Leah de Montgomerie, Outlands Seneschal, the Outlands College of Heralds, and to all others who come by these letters, from Lady Sorcha MacLeod, White Stag Principal Herald!

Thank you all for your patience with the tardiness of this report, for reasons previously communicated.

Specific issues:

• There have been some delays in presenting the revised kingdom policies pertaining to my office – more needed revised than I realized when the Castle Herald position was created.
• Vacancies in kingdom staff: Rampart Herald (External Submissions), Fretty Herald (CoA commenter), Stag’s Attire Herald (Heraldic Regalia and Display).

Current activities:

• The list of short-term and long-term goals for my term in office, requested by Their Majesties at the meeting on the day after Coronation, has been compiled and sent.
• Updating Kingdom Policy pertaining to heralds. Goal: 15 July (2004). Updates submitted for review 14 July (2004), 17 October (2004), and 19 November (2004).
  Pended.
• Informational/Educational articles for Outlandish Herald by White Stag. Goal: Each month.
  Meeting goal.
• Informational/Educational posts to Outlands-heralds list by White Stag or other senior herald. Goal: Each week minimum.
  Meeting goal.
• The Plover Field Heraldry Challenge continues, and prizes have been set as follows: First Prize - Herald's tabard and scroll, Second Prize - Herald's notebook and scroll, Third Prize - scroll. Prizes will be awarded at KWHS 2005 in the Baronies of Unser Hafen and Caer Galen. More information can be found at: http://plover.outlandsheralds.org/challenge.html
• KWHS 2005 will be hosted by the Baronies of Unser Hafen and Caer Galen. I am handling organizing the heraldry track of classes, which is full save for two class hours, for which I have more than two people who may be interested, depending on their ability to attend. • Ceolwen æt Axanbrycge/Kymma Godric is head of a committee formed to create a database and web interface to allow for an on-line search of the Precedence and Roll of Arms databases. Broken computers and other happenstances of life have conspired to delay things over the last month, but progress is picking up again.

Summary of Reports:

Reporting has been lax on some fronts, but I am pleased to report that most branches are reporting regularly and with appropriate content. I will be addressing reporting problems in the few branches where it is a problem during the month of July.

Administrivia:

Finances are in the hands of the Kingdom Exchequer. White Stag/Rampart reports to the Exchequer each month on checks received for which groups, submitters, and items, and requests payment to Laurel for submissions likewise itemized. This section may change in the near future, depending on new policy and procedures implemented between the new Kingdom Exchequer and myself.
